USAID & Georgian National Tourism Administration: Spring

This campaign was managed and directed by Vazul Szakacs during his previous tenure as Marketing Director.

Vision & Objectives

In partnership with USAID, Georgia launched a groundbreaking campaign to revive its tourism industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative, funded by USAID, aimed to reintroduce Georgia as a premier destination for high-value, experiential travelers.

By leveraging immersive storytelling, the campaign highlighted Georgia’s rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and renowned hospitality while emphasizing health, safety, and the unique experiences awaiting visitors.

The campaign sought to build local capacity to sustain economic growth, reduce dependency on foreign assistance, and foster sustainable development through economic resilience, community empowerment, and market-driven solutions.

Impact & Key Results

These achievements demonstrate the transformative power of immersive storytelling and USAID’s market-driven solutions in revitalizing Georgia’s tourism sector.

By fostering public-private partnerships and empowering local businesses, the campaign inspired global audiences to explore Georgia’s breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and renowned hospitality.

Immersive content creation & Distribution

The campaign united 16 internationally acclaimed travel influencers who immersed themselves in Georgia’s iconic landscapes, vibrant culinary traditions, and rich cultural heritage over the course of a week. Their efforts resulted in 88 Instagram posts, 200+ immersive Instagram stories, and Facebook posts, all strategically distributed to maximize global engagement.

Networking events connected influencers with over 200 local businesses, fostering public-private partnerships that enhanced local capacity and positioned Georgian entrepreneurs and tourism operators for sustained growth and global visibility.

Influencer Partnerships & Authentic Engagement

Vazul Szakacs, serving as a cultural expert and liaison between USAID, the Georgian National Tourism Administration, and the influencer team, ensured seamless collaboration and impactful storytelling. His presence highlighted USAID’s commitment to locally-led development and capacity building, aligning stakeholders and empowering local communities.

During the campaign, Vazul delivered remarks alongside Peter Wiebler (USAID Georgia Mission Director) and Mariam Kvrivishvili (Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georgia), emphasizing the campaign’s role in driving economic resilience and sustainable development.
